This Privacy Policy explains how personal data is collected, used, stored, shared and protected when you use the website localbizindia.com and its related features and services (the "Platform").
The Platform is owned and operated by Mohd Amir Siddiqui, an individual sole proprietor based in New Delhi, Delhi, India, trading as "Local Biz India" ("we", "us" or "our"). We are the Data Fiduciary in respect of personal data processed through the Platform, within the meaning of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act") and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025 ("DPDP Rules").
This Policy should be read together with our Terms and Conditions. By using the Platform, you confirm that you have read and understood this Policy.
If you do not agree with how we handle personal data, please stop using the Platform.

This Policy does not apply to the privacy practices of businesses listed on the Platform, or of any third-party website you reach through a link on the Platform. If you contact or transact with a listed business, that business handles your data under its own policies, and we are not responsible for it.
When you use the Platform, we and our service providers may automatically collect:
The Platform offers a "Search Near Me" feature. If you use it, your browser will ask for permission to share your device's location. We use that location only to return nearby search results for that session. We do not store precise device location against your account, and you can refuse or later revoke this permission in your browser settings without losing access to the rest of the Platform.
We do not knowingly collect financial account numbers, card details, passwords, OTPs, Aadhaar numbers or other sensitive identifiers through the Platform or the contact form. Please do not send us such information. If you do, we may delete it.
The Platform does not currently process online payments and does not store payment instrument data.
Business listings are, by their nature, published publicly. Information you submit in a listing — including business name, address, telephone number, email address and images — will be visible to anyone visiting the Platform, may be indexed by search engines such as Google, and may appear in our search results, category pages, city pages and promotional material.
Where a listing contains details of an individual, such as a sole proprietor's own name or personal mobile number, you are choosing to make that information public. Please only include contact details you are willing to have published and are authorised to publish.
If you submit personal data belonging to another person, such as an employee's direct number, you confirm that you have that person's consent to publish it.
We process personal data on the basis of your consent, given when you register, submit a listing, post a review or contact us, and for certain legitimate uses permitted under Section 7 of the DPDP Act, including where you have voluntarily provided data for a specified purpose and where processing is necessary to comply with law.

We do not sell personal data. We do not rent or trade your personal data or contact lists to third parties for their independent marketing.
The Platform uses cookies and similar technologies.
Essential cookies are required for the Platform to function — for example, to keep you logged in, remember your session, and protect against cross-site request forgery. These cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality.
Analytics cookies help us understand how the Platform is used. We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, provided by Google LLC, which set cookies and collect usage data including a truncated or full IP address, device information and interaction events. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy, available at policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Advertising and embedded content. If we display advertisements, embed maps, or embed social media content in future, those providers may set their own cookies. This Policy will be updated when that happens.
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking all cookies may prevent you from logging in or submitting a listing.

Service providers. We use third parties to operate the Platform, including:
These providers process data on our instructions and are permitted to use it only to provide their services to us.
Publicly, through listings and reviews. As described in Clause 4.
Legal and regulatory disclosure. We may disclose personal data where required by law, court order, or a lawful request from a government agency or law enforcement authority, or where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to investigate fraud, enforce our Terms, protect our rights, or protect the safety of any person.
Business transfer. If the Platform or its assets are sold, merged or transferred, personal data may be transferred as part of that transaction. You will be notified of any change in the identity of the Data Fiduciary.
Some of our service providers, including Google, operate servers outside India. Where personal data is transferred outside India, such transfer is made in accordance with Section 16 of the DPDP Act and the DPDP Rules, and only to countries or territories not restricted by the Central Government. We take reasonable steps to ensure that recipients apply appropriate safeguards.
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, or as required by law.

When retention periods expire, we delete personal data or irreversibly anonymise it. Some copies may remain in encrypted backups for a limited period before being overwritten in the normal backup cycle.

How to exercise your rights. Write to us at contact@localbizindia.com from the email address registered with your account, or use the contact form. We may ask for information to verify your identity before acting on a request. We will respond within the timelines prescribed under the DPDP Rules, and in any case within 30 days.
You can also update most listing and account information directly by logging in.
Your duties. Under Section 15 of the DPDP Act, you must not impersonate another person, suppress material information, or file false or frivolous grievances, and must provide only authentic information when exercising the right to correction.
The Platform is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
In accordance with Section 9 of the DPDP Act, we do not process the personal data of a child without verifiable consent from a parent or lawful guardian, and we do not undertake tracking, behavioural monitoring, or targeted advertising directed at children.

We take reasonable security safeguards to protect personal data, including:
No system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of data transmitted over the internet, and you share information at your own risk. Please use a strong, unique password and do not reuse it across sites.
Data breach. In the event of a personal data breach, we will notify the Data Protection Board of India and affected Data Principals in the manner and within the timelines prescribed under the DPDP Rules, including a description of the breach, the data affected, the likely consequences, the measures taken, and the steps you can take to protect yourself.

We will acknowledge your complaint within twenty-four (24) hours and endeavour to resolve it within fifteen (15) days, as required under the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, and within the timelines prescribed under the DPDP Rules for data protection grievances.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate the matter to the Data Protection Board of India established under the DPDP Act.
The Platform contains links to business websites, social media profiles, maps and other external sites. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, security or privacy practices. Review their privacy policies before providing personal data to them.
We may send you service-related messages, such as listing approval notices, password resets and security alerts. These are necessary for the operation of your account and cannot be opted out of while your account is active.
We will send promotional emails, newsletters or offers only where you have opted in. Every such message will include an unsubscribe link, and you can also opt out by writing to contact@localbizindia.com.
We do not use the contact details published in business listings to send bulk marketing, and we prohibit others from scraping the Platform to do so.
We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the Platform, or the law. The revised version will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
Where changes are material, we will make reasonable efforts to notify registered users by email or through a prominent notice on the Platform. Continued use of the Platform after the revised Policy takes effect constitutes acceptance of it.
